What’s Available at Your Shreveport Grocery Store?

Kroger offers fresh flowers and baked goods if you’re looking for a special treat to take back to loved ones at your short term rental. Kroger’s rewards program allows you to save towards a discount on gas points or get select items at a savings.
Prefer the familiarity of Walmart? The Walmart Neighborhood Market at 4000 Barksdale Blvd in Bossier City LA is the ideal place if you have a variety of shopping needs. While here, you can get your fuel tank or prescription filled, grab a Redbox movie and get fruit, bread, deli meat, soda pop and other necessities.
Super 1 Foods works hard to get involved in the local community. They are the hosts for an upcoming Brookshire’s + Super 1 Foods Heroes Run on October 21st, which will benefit non-profits for military heroes among others. Super 1 Foods also has a program where military veterans can apply to join an expenses-paid flight to Washington DC to see the monuments there. But don’t forget the food! Order charcuterie boards with cheese and fruit or get your dairy items, cereal and canned foods while browsing the store.

Don’t forget about the Barksdale Commissary! Military service members are part of the select group of people who can enjoy the at-cost savings of a base commissary. Be sure to price check around town, though, since some items (such as meat) may be much cheaper at the commissary, while others are less expensive through traditional grocery stores. Don’t forget to tip your bagger if you have him or her help you carry out your bags! Or, if you want to save a little extra cash, you can always check and bag the items on your own. Last but not least, Brookshire’s is owned by the same company as Super 1 Foods and has a new location in Bossier City, at 4860 Airline Drive, conveniently located just north of Barksdale Air Force Base. The store offers a lot of perks you’ll want to check out, including a Pizza Hut, coffee shop, wide selection of custom bakery options, seafood and more.1
