Stay in Shreveport travel nurse housing & enjoy weekend shopping deals!

Last week, we talked about discounted options for museums in the Shreveport LA area. In this post, we’ll continue the money-saving trend and discuss ten thrift / resale stores in northern Louisiana that you may want to check out while you’re here for work and staying in our travel nurse housing. Read on for ideas!

What could be more fun than spending less while shopping?!

There’s something slightly addictive about shopping at a thrift store. It’s easy to become like a detective on the hunt for a good product at bargain price. In our Southern city, you’re in good company. There’s a wealth of options to choose from!

  • Summer Grove Baptist Church Thrift Store – This store is open two Saturdays a month and has a large selection of household, clothing and other items.
  • Rolling Hills Ministries Thrift Store – There are several locations around Louisiana, but the Bossier City store is located at 517 Benton Road, Bossier City, LA 71111 and is open six days a week.
  • Fab Finds Benefitting the YWCA Resale Boutique – Make a brief stop to browse this shop for unique clothing finds and more.
  • Ollie’s Bargain Outlet – When you shop at Ollie’s, you’re searching through a large inventory of overstocked and clearance items. The beauty in this is that you can really score on some “new” items for a lower price.
  • Dirt Cheap – Like Ollie’s Bargain Outlet, Dirt Cheap sells new items at a discounted rate. Just be careful that you don’t walk out of the store with something you don’t need!
  • Southeastern Salvage Home Emporium – Give Southeastern Salvage a call or visit their Facebook page for the latest updates and to make sure they are open when you want to visit.
  • Goodwill Industries – You’ve probably heard of Goodwill before and for good reason…they have many locations around the USA and in northern Louisiana. Check out the Goodwill website for local store details and addresses.
  • Christ Fit Resale Thrift Store is open six days a week (closed Sundays) and is located at 2650 Barksdale Blvd.
  • The Salvation Army Thrift Store – Proceeds from your purchases at this store will benefit a charity and help you! It’s a win-win situation.
  • Uptown Cheapskate Bossier – Here, you’ll find nice, name-brand items at a reduced price. You can also potentially sell your items to them as well!

Please keep in mind that we are providing information about these locations as a convenience to our current and potential tenants! We don’t specifically endorse any business or organization listed. Also, please follow guidelines for social distancing while out and about. Shreveport Bossier Corporate Housing wants you to be safe, happy and healthy!

Fully furnished travel nurse housing…a great value and comfortable too!

As a medical professional who travels often, you know that excess baggage can really make a move more difficult. One way to offset this is to buy discounted clothing that can be donated after you’ve completed your away rotation or nursing assignment. We discussed places to donate clothes in a previous post.

Of course, at the end of a successful shopping day, you’ll want to come home with your finds to a comfortable place to sleep. Our travel nurse housing solutions are fully furnished and a well-maintained, lower-cost short term rental option in the area.

Give our owner, Debi, a call at 318-548-6156 to ask about current availability or send a message on our Contact form.

We offer discounts for nurses as well as for service members and their families needing off-base Barksdale AFB housing. We also cater to business executives needing corporate housing solutions for their traveling employees.

We look forward to hearing from you!
