There are a number of great organizations in the Northern Louisiana area that would love to partner with you in the work they are doing. And you’re not limited to one type of job…there’s something for everyone!
- Do you enjoy gardening and being outdoors? One of the ways that Shreveport Green supports the area is by offering community gardens for locals to enjoy and get fruits and vegetables.
- Care about food for the community but prefer something indoors? The Food Bank of Northwest Louisiana is accepting volunteers to assist with sorting/packing boxes for seniors, office jobs or even food delivery to seniors and / or several local schools.
- Are you all about dogs and cats? Consider volunteering your time at the Humane Society of Northwest Louisiana! You’ll get to enjoy time with lots and lots of canine and feline friends and meet some humans who love animals too.
- The American Red Cross of Louisiana is another option for volunteer work. They assist with training and education as well as disaster relief needs.
Low on time but have some extra cash? These organizations are accepting donations in a variety of ways.
- Shreveport-Bossier Rescue Mission is accepting donations of clothing, accessories and more. They also would love to partner with you in a donation drive or if you would sponsor a meal for the homeless. You can even help local area restaurants by doing this!
- Help support the United Way of Northwest Louisiana with your financial donations.
