• Did you know that Shreveport is home to Barksdale Air Force Base? That’s right, we proudly support our military veterans and active duty service members here in Shreveport…and at Shreveport Bossier Corporate Housing. Barksdale AFB also now has a new construction project in progress…it was recently chosen for a weapons generation facility that won’t be completed until early 2026. The huge project includes six buildings and will work in conjunction with the Base’s B-52 bombers.³
• Amazon isn’t the only big business in town, though! The Port of Caddo-Bossier is a 4000 acre complex just South of Shreveport and helps to distribute goods from large companies in town out to the rest of the world. The Red River (which the Port sits on) is more than 1200 miles long and connects with another river, eventually ending in the Gulf of Mexico.⁴ Naturally, this makes the Shreveport location a very strategic one. Plus, the Port recently began work on a new 40,000 square foot heavy-load warehouse project, which is great news for temp contractors looking for jobs.⁵
• Of course, Shreveport isn’t all work and no play. Last month, Chasing Aces Golf broke ground on their new 27 acre entertainment complex in Bossier City. The golf center will offer a huge driving range with interactive features as well as food and more.⁶ This is an awesome opportunity for construction teams looking to come to the area.
• Last but not least, Multipack Services (a beverage company) is renovating and opening a large production facility in town.⁷

Some Other Recent Projects in Shreveport and Louisiana Include:

• SLB (aka Schlumberger) is now hiring for positions at its facility in the former GM plant in Shreveport Business Park.⁸ SLB is a tech company in the energy sector.
• Honeywell UOP is a large manufacturing company with multiple locations in Louisiana, including one in Shreveport. Late last year, Honeywell announced their $14 million expansion of an existing plant in Geismar, Louisiana (near Baton Rouge).⁹
