Organization & Task Management Tools for Busy RNs Staying in Travel Nurse Housing

As a busy traveling nurse, you’re probably very familiar with lists. After all, hospitals require certain methodical procedures to be completed in order to help patients. But work isn’t the only place where list-making comes in handy. It can also help when you’re staying in travel nurse housing and need to remember what items to pick up at the grocery store before heading home to make dinner. In this post, we’ve rounded up a short list of possible app and print-related solutions that will help your organizational dreams come true.

Want to accomplish a lot today? Make a list! As we’ve already established, one of the best ways to help yourself stay organized and on-task is to create a checklist of the things you need to complete. Check out the below options you may want to implement in 2023…

  • Asana is ideal for managing time-sensitive projects that involve multiple people. This cloud-based software has free and paid options as well as apps for desktop, iOS and Android. You can organize separate projects into “boards” and make To Do lists with itemized tasks for each board. If you set a date for task completion, you can sort tasks to show the most pressing ones first. Another cool feature is the ability to communicate directly on Asana with team members that you’ve invited.
  • Google Calendar is a lifesaver. Truly, it is. Never again will you have to worry about whether you’re scheduling brunch with your girlfriends at the same time as your yoga class. Google’s super simple-to-use calendar makes it a snap to add new events and set reminders as needed on your laptop or smartphone. You can also set events to repeat if you have a regularly-scheduled appointment, class, meeting etc. In addition, you can create multiple calendars if, for example, you wanted one calendar for birthdays and another for work.
  • Evernote is a flexible tool that works like an old-fashioned spiral notebook…it can be whatever you need it to be! Evernote is available for smartphones as well as desktop use. If you prefer to make freeform notes that don’t follow a list-based format, you may prefer to use Evernote instead of more structured alternatives.
  • Of course, we can’t create this list of options without mentioning the tried-and-true print calendar. Sometimes, you get tired of a digital life and just want something handwritten that can help you stay on top of your daily tasks. Check out this article from HGTV with some cute wall calendars you just might not be able to pass up!

Please keep in mind that we are providing this information as a convenience to our current and potential tenants! We don’t specifically endorse any app, program, business or organization listed.
