- Terry Bradshaw was born here in 1948 and is best known as a sports analyst and professional football player.1 Bradshaw’s face is synonymous with football and, as a quarterback for the Pittsburgh Steelers, he contributed to four Super Bowl wins.
- Van Cliburn was a famous classical pianist with worldwide acclaim. He was extremely gifted and began learning to play at the age of three. Cliburn played for many US Presidents and other dignitaries from around the world.2
- Hank Williams Jr. is a country music superstar and followed in his (also famous) father’s footsteps. During his long career, Williams has created many recognizable songs, including A Country Boy Can Survive and I’m for Love.3
- Evelyn Ashford is a sprinter and Olympian. She set a new Olympic record and won the 1984 gold medal in the 100 meter race as well as several other Olympic golds over the years.4
