Keep your recipes organized for cooking in our Barksdale AFB housing!

Back in the day, cookbooks were the one-stop-solution for great meals. They offered colorful photos and homespun goodness in the form of ingredient lists and instructions. These days, many people find their next mealtime idea from the internet. But what’s the best way to store your favorites? As a serviceperson staying in Barksdale AFB housing, you’ll want something portable and simple-to-use. In this post, we’ll discuss some recipe organization apps you may want to consider. Yum, yummy! One huge benefit of renting our condos near Barksdale Air Force Base is the fully equipped kitchen area. When you stay with us, you can spread your creative wings and enjoy making your own meals. Check out some of the organization apps below to help keep your favorite recipes within reach.

  • Paprika Recipe Manager – What’s great about this iOS and Android app is the easy import tool for recipes. Simply navigate within the app to the website you want to save and click “download.” The app will pull recipe data from the site and you can save it to your account. Easy peasy! Of course, you’ll also love the grocery list tool and meal planning calendar…all for a low, one-time fee.
  • Whisk – In addition to meal planning and lists, Whisk offers a community feature to its app. You can communicate with other like-minded foodies and join communities of people that share the same dietary needs or interests as you do. Users can also create their own community to keep friends and family in the loop on what they are baking / cooking! This is a great feature as it allows military personnel to connect with loved ones around the world. Now you can all enjoy Grandma’s signature pecan pie!
  • BigOven – Like the other apps, BigOven offers list-making tools to help make your meal planning a snap. But what if you have leftovers from several meals to use up? This app / website works with several ingredients you provide to generate possibilities for your next meal. Why go to the store when you can use what you have!

These are just a few of the many available options out there, though! Please keep in mind that we are providing information about these applications / programs as a convenience to our current and potential tenants! We don’t specifically endorse any of the apps listed or companies connected to them.
