In this post, we’ll discuss several desktop apps you can utilize to help you build breaktime into your routine. Don’t let yourself become “glued to your screen”! It’s easy to justify staring at the laptop for long hours, especially if you work for several days and sightsee on your days off. However, your eyes will thank you for short breaks throughout the day from your computer screen. Having trouble remembering to stretch your tensed-up muscles? You can also use some of these apps to remind yourself to stretch or even take several drinks of water!

One important consideration as you look to download a desktop app…do you use Mac or Windows? Of course, some apps are cross-platform compatible, but make sure to check on whether the program will work with the specific machine you’re running.

  • Time Out – Break Reminders is customizable and allows you to set the time limits on how often and how long to take your breaks. If needed, you can skip the reminder, but it’s not optimal!
  • Focus Booster is more than just a timer! It also allows you to track your work progress so you can see what you’re accomplishing in a day’s time. In addition, rentals feature in-unit washer and dryer machines so you can do laundry anytime of the day or night. Don’t stress about laundromats anymore!
