If Fall is the season for football and Winter for basketball, Springtime is baseball season! Baseball is sometimes known as “America’s Favorite Pastime”…and for good reason. Softball and baseball are great activities for youngsters as well as good exercise for adults as well. But even if you’d rather watch, it’s still a lot of fun. If you’re coming on a nursing assignment to the Shreveport area, check out this post to learn more about what our Southern city has to offer. You’ll enjoy our spacious, well-equipped travel nurse housing as well as a variety of activities in the area on your days off.
Let’s play ball in Louisiana!
The Louisiana State University-Shreveport baseball team is about to finish up their season. Check out the schedule for the LSUS Pilots and cheer on one of our local college teams.Of course, another way to enjoy the sport is to watch movies about baseball! What better way to do that than at a drive-in movie. Classic Americana, right?! The South Bossier Drive In Movie Theater at The Reeves Marine Center is featuring two movies about the game in May. The Sandlot will be playing on the big screen on May 14th and A League of Their Own on May 15th.
But what if you are working at the hospital over that weekend and can’t go? Our fully furnished travel nurse housing is a great option for a quiet movie night at home. All of our rentals feature an HDTV with cable as well as leather recliners for lounging. Before starting your movie, head to the equipped kitchen area to make some popcorn in the microwave. Or, whip up some homemade cookies in the stove with our cookie sheet.
Would you rather play baseball instead of just watching others play? The Red River Men’s Adult Baseball League is an active group of enthusiasts who love to compete in games.
In addition, the Shreveport Public Assembly and Recreation (SPAR) has an Adult Softball League for men and women. The season has already started for 2021, but check out this link for more information.
Please keep in mind that we are providing information about these activities as a convenience to our current and potential tenants! We don’t specifically endorse any business or organization listed. Also, please follow guidelines for social distancing while out and about. Shreveport Bossier Corporate Housing wants you to be safe, happy and healthy!
