Reflections for 2020: Fully furnished travel nurse housing is a big blessing!

Christmas is over and a new year is almost here. There’s always some reflection and anticipation as year-end draws near, but it’s safe to say that 2020 has been challenging for everyone. Very few would have expected the chain of events that have dominated many aspects of life. For all healthcare professionals, the stress was amplified. Here at Shreveport-Bossier Corporate Housing, we work hard to create a home-like atmosphere of relaxation for all those staying in our travel nurse housing. We also believe that, in the midst of a difficult year, there were a number of blessings. We’ll discuss these blessings in this post.

What are some blessings from the year?

As Americans, hopefully we can look back on the year and see the personal growth that happened despite unique challenges. Maybe this list can help you brainstorm as you reflect on the old and look forward to the new.

  • Many of us have had more time to reflect on the “small” blessings that often get taken for granted…home, family, job and community. Do you have others to add?
  • For traveling nurses, long-distance relationships are more normal than for most people. After all, they live their lives on the road and frequently in different areas of the country. This year, out of a desire for everyone’s personal health, distanced relationships became the norm. And yet, a blessing of this can be more intentional relationship building. Now, we have to work harder to stay in touch with friends and family and, thus, can build stronger relationships.
  • Doctors and all medical professionals know the importance of clean hands and personal hygiene. It’s essential for working in a hospital! Now, everyone is aware of the benefits of using hand sanitizer and cleaning supplies are prominent in most businesses. Overall, this is a major blessing as it promotes better health.
  • Many people decided to use extra time to learn a new hobby this year and were blessed by that. Did you practice learning a new language? What about joining the baking phenomenon? Our housing for nurses features a fully equipped kitchen area with all the amenities needed for baking, such as cookie sheet, mixer with beaters, stove, measuring cup / spoons and more.
  • In 2020, we all embraced our medical professionals, nurses and front-line workers facing the daily challenges of a scary virus. When others were encouraged to stay at home, doctors had to go into the hospitals and help the sick. Healthcare workers have blessed us all this year.
  • This year has increased our empathy for the elderly and all those dealing with health issues. We have all realized the fragility and blessing of good health.
  • Shreveport and the Bossier City area is such a great place to live. This year has been ideal for appreciating and supporting our nation’s local communities by patronizing local businesses / restaurants with curbside pickup or takeout orders. Our city has many hidden gems that are just waiting to be discovered!
  • Have you discovered a new park or outdoor walking area this year? Since indoor activities have been less safe, we have all enjoyed exploring the great outdoors and the natural beauty surrounding us.
  • Technology has been a big part of 2020. We’ve all had to learn a few new skills and ways to utilize our phones or laptops…and that’s a blessing as well.

Travel nurse housing is more than a place to hang your stethoscope…it’s home

Home has taken on new meaning as we’ve all learned to adjust to changing times. However, here at Shreveport-Bossier Corporate Housing, our commitment to quality and cleanliness in our travel nurse housing rentals has not changed. We are dedicated to serving our community here in Shreveport LA and the surrounding area. We’d love to rent out our fully furnished temporary housing for travel nurses to those working in nearby hospitals such as Ochsner LSU Health Shreveport Hospital or Willis-Knighton Medical Center. Thank you for your service…we so appreciate you!
