Here in Louisiana, we love it when guests enjoy our Southern hospitality. There’s nothing quite like having a good meal and joining with you as we celebrate the unique cultural experiences that set us apart from anywhere else in the USA. Shreveport boasts well-kept, comfortable temporary housing for travel nurses that are staying in the area on assignment. We also just happen to be the home to a wildly popular festival called Mudbug Madness! In this post, we’ll discuss all the details you need to know for this upcoming event.
How to take part in this year’s Mudbug Madness
Of course, we totally understand if your first question is “what’s a crawfish?” According to The Spruce Eats website, around 95% of the crawfish eaten in the United States come from Louisiana.1 It’s no wonder that we like to party about that! Crawfish look and taste a little like a miniature lobster, so if you like seafood, you’ll enjoy this tiny crustacean.1Now that you’re in the know, it’s time to get ready for Mudbug Madness, held on May 28-30, 2021. There will be a wide variety of fun options to choose from:
- Cornhole Tournament
- Music, music, music with artists including Sister Hazel, CJ Chenier, the Acadien Cajun Band, Willie Jones and more. Check out the list and times here.
- Mens, Womens and Celebrity crawfish eating contests
- Crawfish calling contest…but can you really call a crustacean?!
- Beer Garden
Another fun activity going on right now is SWEPCO’s Mudbug Madness Treasure Hunt! Each day, clues have been and will be announced on the ArkLATexHomePage.com website. You can win $1000 if you figure out the clues…or, have fun putting on your armchair detective’s hat and enjoy the hunt from the comfort of your condo.
