One of the best things about traveling frequently for work is that you can enjoy the sights, tastes, sounds and smells of a new place. There’s something about actually visiting the south that just can’t be explained in a brochure or experienced by watching a movie. In this post, we’ll talk about one upcoming annual event that gets the whole city of Shreveport excited…the Red River Revel. Why should I care about the Revel?

In addition to music, the festival also boasts delicious food with southern favorites like seafood gumbo and crawfish etouffee. Looking for family-friendly fare? How about mac-and-cheese or a selection of donuts?!
Speaking of family, the Revel also encourages kids to embrace the arts through face painting, sand art or other children’s activities. If you’re on your Shreveport RN assignment with the kids in tow (or if you have family / friends in town), bring them out to the festival for an afternoon of fun.
Why not buy some lovely paintings or art creations for your Mom back home? The Revel encourages artists to sell their work by setting up large areas for them to display artwork. Take a look and maybe finish your Christmas shopping list?!
