When it comes to spending time with your dog, there’s nothing better than going for a walk together. Fresh air, new smells and exercise all combine to make the experience top-notch for human and pet alike. Of course, pet owners love their furry companions so much they’d love to take them everywhere if possible! In this post, we’ll help you discover some restaurant patios (as well as our corporate housing Shreveport) where dogs are as welcome as people!
Get a bite to eat with your pet in tow
If you’re not planning a night in, why not enjoy an afternoon or evening out? Some of Shreveport’s restaurants (and select shopping establishments) have gorgeous patio areas that offer a break from the hospital or office environment you’ve been surviving all day. Plus, you can bring your dog too! Check out these options…- Want some amazing locally-roasted coffee? You’ll have to visit Rhino Coffee at one of their three locations in town. Or, sit and relax on the patio with your pet at Rhino’s downtown spot.
- The Seventh Tap is a local brewery with a huge patio area and is open six days a week, closed on Monday. Make a new friend while there and bring your four-legged friend too!
- Hungry for breakfast? Try an early morning run with a refreshing al-fresco meal of eggs and bacon at Another Broken Egg Cafe. Or, add a little southern touch to your day with a plate of Shrimp and Grits and a Crab Cake Benedict.
- Speaking of southern food, a MUST-visit place while you’re staying in short term rentals Shreveport is Marilynn’s Place! This is the real deal, folks. Choose from Crawfish EtoufĂ©e, Shrimp Remoulade, Seafood Gumbo, Red Beans and Rice etc. Or don’t choose…get them all! Plus, Marilynn’s has a patio area so your dog can watch you guzzle down some yummy eats. Maybe bring him a treat from home to enjoy so he doesn’t feel left out. 🙂
- At Great Raft Brewing, you don’t have to bring treats for your dog…they have them available for your pet! Upon arrival, make sure to ask a Great Raft server about their special Doggie Beer Biscuits. Grab some fried chicken and a drink for yourself and then head to the patio with your dog for a delightful meal.
Want something else to do with your dog?
Food and frolicking are fun, but if you’re wanting some other pet-friendly activities in the area, take a look at a few options mentioned below…
- Take a stroll through the Bossier City Farmers Market with your leashed dog. The Market has lots of produce (perfect for cooking a meal at home) as well as baked goods, crafts from local artisans, cheese and more! You can catch the Farmers Market on Saturdays through November.
- Enjoy Mardi Gras? You’ll love it even more next February at the Shreveport Krewe of Barkus and Meoux parade! Bring your pet in a fun costume and consider donating to support the Krewe…they work hard all year to help pets thrive in Louisiana.
- You might not think of roses when you think of Louisiana, but the American Rose Center is a showstopper! The gardens are lovely for human relaxation and are pet-friendly as well.
