Everyone has their own preference, but Fall (or Autumn as it’s sometimes known by) is one of the best times of the year in Shreveport LA. True, Springtime in Louisiana brings the annual Mardi Gras parties (which are awesome!), but Fall offers the benefits of cooler weather, delicious produce and the promise of a fun holiday season ahead. Here at Shreveport Bossier Corporate Housing, we want you to feel at home in our city and in our travel nurse housing. In this post, we’ll discuss some Fall activities you may want to consider when you’re not on duty at the hospital.
Outdoor Fun Abounds in Louisiana!
What are your favorite things about Fall? Is it the smell of a bonfire and taste of a toasted marshmallow on a s’more? Or do you enjoy sports and the whole atmosphere surrounding football season? Or maybe you enjoy Halloween and pumpkin carving. Whatever your reasons, it’s always fun to have an excuse to celebrate…especially this year! Some local area events include:
- The Shreveport Summer Send-Off in Stoner Park. This event features a different musical group each Friday night in September and is hosted “drive-in” style for everyone’s safety.
- Pumpkins, Corn Maze and Haunted Attractions at DixieMaze Farms. If you’re looking for a traditional Fall experience, this should go on your to do list. The Fall festivities begin on September 26 and remain open until the end of October. This is perfect for a group of friends / coworkers or for a family outing with the kids.
- Travel the world at this year’s Aseana Autumn Festival on October 24th. The event spotlights Japan and is hosted at the Asian Gardens of Shreveport in the downtown area.
- “Tailgate” at home and host a football-watching party for the New Orleans Saints. Unwind on the weekend in front of the television with some friends or a roommate while watching football. Our fully furnished travel nurse housing is comfortable and move-in ready. Each of our condos has a living area with leather recliners and an HDTV with cable. Want to make some yummy snacks before the coin toss? Our equipped kitchen areas feature any of the utensils or pots & pans needed for baking / cooking.
- Spend the weekend at a local campsite such as Caddo Lake State Park. If you want the real campfire experience, this is your best bet. You can build a real wood-burning fire, sing and tell ghost stories with friends and roast hot dogs / s’mores. It doesn’t get any better!
